Being my dad’s youngest daughter, we definitely have a very close relationship. We share similar humor, traveled a lot together for sports, and more! So, as Father’s Day rolls in, I put a lot of thought into the things to do for Father’s Day.

Every dad is unique, but they’re also very similar to the core! Guys will be guys, no matter how old they get. So, this list is full of things guys will absolutely love. 

Once you’ve seen all of the activities on this list, you will be able to give your dad the best day ever for Father’s Day!

Best Things To Do For Father’s Day

1. Disc Golf 

If your dad is not a golfer, then try disc golf! In my opinion, disc golf is better than golf! (Golf lovers please don’t hate me for saying that xoxo). 

Also, if your dad loves being in nature, then disc golfing is the perfect sport! Disc golf is typically in the woods, so you can enjoy the nature hike while playing disc golf!

2. Rock Climbing

Is your dad adventurous? Go to an indoor or outdoor rock climbing spot and get a workout in! Besides being a good workout, rock climbing is super fun to test your limits!

Try challenging each other to see who can do more advanced climbs, and remember to always wear your straps!

3. Go To An Arcade 

This ones for those dads who miss the 80s! My dad absolutely loved arcades as a kid, so take your dad back in time to play games in an arcade! Arcades are less common, so make sure to do the proper research to find one.

If you struggle to find an arcade nearby, then you can always try to create your own games at home!

4. Paint Ball

Get your protective goggles and get to paint balling! If your dad loves call of duty or just playing outdoors games, he will probably love to play paint ball!

Make sure to wear protective clothes, for you will definitely leave will a lot of bruises! And make sure you go with people you trust (once my sister kept shooting me because she thought it was funny!! And she was on my team!!!!). 

5. Brewery 

If chilling is your dads vibe, then going to a brewery is one of the great things to do for Father’s Day! Don’t just go with him, but get your whole family enjoying the nice June weather at the brewery. 

Enjoy some live music, corn hole, beer, and yummy appetizers and enjoy the nice evening together. 

6. Mud Run

If your dad is an athlete, then you have to do a mud run! The most popular mud run is the Tough Mudder and it’s so much fun! But, you do have to be tough!

A Tough Mudder is where you run a 5k, 10k, or any amount of miles and do challenging obstacles during the run. Some of the obstacles include cage crawls, jumping in freezing water, and getting electrically shocked! (Scary). 

7. Bowling

One of the things to do for Father’s Day is bowling! If your dad is a star at bowling, then he’d probably want to go and beat you at it!! Make bowling more exciting by getting your entire family together for the ultimate competition. 

Don’t forget about night bowling! At certain bowling allies, they turn off the lights and play music videos and disco lights! I once had my birthday party at one of these night bowling allies, and it was absolutely a blast!

8. Go Karting

Vroom vroom! I don’t know a single man who doesn’t love Go Karting. Surprise your dad with a trip to the closest and most epic go karting track! The first time I went go karting I was so scared!! But the scaredness quickly vanished and now I’m a force to be reckoned with! 

Also, Go Karting is like Mario Cart in real life, so if you like the video game, then you will absolutely have a blast go karting! 

9. Axe Throwing

Another manly Father’s Day activity is Axe Throwing! If your dad has never been axe throwing, then you absolutely have to try this! It is so much fun and a lot harder than you would think. 

All you do is throw an axe to a target. It’s kind of like darts but a whole lot bigger! Go to your nearest axe throwing company, and I know you’ll have so much fun!

10. Cornhole

Oh yes, cornhole! You know, my sister is in a league and she’s actually so good! The best part about her being in the league, is that her and my dad has gotten so close!

Cornhole is a social sport, and something that you can do while having a barbecue or visiting a brewery. Also, cornhole is the perfect summer activity to do in June. 

11. Make Him BBQ Food

Summer time means barbecue time! Get outside, start up the grill, and grill your dad his favorite meal!

Does he love love ribs, steak, chicken, pulled port, or is he vegetarian and love tofu? There’s something for everyone!

12. Skydiving

For all the daredevils out there, skydiving is the best thing ever! The combination of excellent views with the thrilling speed of free falling, is the ultimate combination! 

If your dad is scared of heights (like me) you can even try indoor skydiving! It has the same thrill, but just a lot closer to the land! 

13. Woodshop With Him

Is your dad a handy person? Spend the day in his woodshop building something neat with him! At the end, you can paint it to make it into a even more project! 

You can make anything from dolls to furniture! Just get create and build exactly what you need!

14. Mountain Biking

Another outdoorsy activity to do with your dad is to go mountain biking! If there’s not a mountain nearby, then go biking at your nearest place! 

Biking is a fun activity to do with your dad that will get you moving. It’s one of those few activities that is a workout and enjoyable at the same time. 

15. Escape Room

If your dad is an out of the box thinker, consider doing an escape room! Escape rooms really get you thinking hard about how to escape the room (hence the name lol). 

Last time my family did an escape room, it took us sooo long to get out, but we did!! Escaping the room is truly a great feeling of accomplishment. 

16. Camping

This activity for Father’s Day is probably as outdoorsy as it can get! Spending time outside and sleeping in the wilderness is sure to test you to your limits. 

If you’re a first time camper, make sure to bring high quality tents, sleeping bags, and other tools to make your experience comfortable. 

17. Breakfast In Bed

Ooh la la. Breakfast in bed, count me in! If your dad wants a relaxing day for Father’s Day, consider making him breakfast in bed! Make him his favorite dishes: eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, waffles, and so much more!

Is your dad a fan of nascar? Take him to a game and celebrate some good old car racing!

If your dad’s not into car racing, then you can supplement this for any type of sports game that your dad will love!

Of course I have to include golf!! So many dads love golf, and frankly moms too! Take a nice golfing day with your dad in the nice June weather, and maybe hit the pool afterwards!

If your dad is a fan of hunting, then take a hunting trip with him!! Personally, I’ve never been (because I’m too soft), but my sister has been and she says it’s so fun! Plan your dad a surprising trip and spend time doing his hobby!

If your dad is athletic and LOVES sports, then play his favorite sport with him! There’s soooo many sports to choose from! Soccer, basketball, hockey, baseball, kickball, and so much more! Get the entire family together to have some family fun in the sun!

There’s something super fun about making something from complete scratch, especially pizza!! Make the dough, apply the sauce, cheese, and toppings! 

24. Go Fishing

Fishing is a great activity to do for Father’s Day, especially if your dad is a patient soul. It’s true, being patient is a great quality for fishermen, one that is hard for my boyfriend (he hates fishing lol). 

Go fishing at a nearby pond, lake, or deep sea fishing, and enjoy each others company! You.can even turn it into some family competition! 

25. Sports Game

If your dad loves sports, then take him to a sports game! Baseball is a famous sport available during June, so taking him to a ball game is a great idea. 

26. Pool Time

June has spectacular weather, especially for the pool! Spend a day at the pool, relaxing, and playing water games! There’s nothing better than sitting in the sun and jumping into the cool water!

This activity sounds super fun. Go to your nearest body of water and rent a kayak! Or, if you have a kayak, take it out to the water and start paddling! If you get a double kayak, it’s a great way to work on your communication skills.

If you love the outdoors and hiking, but don’t necessarily want to camp, hiking is absolutely amazing! Hiking has beautiful views that can be breathtaking in the correct place!

Geocaching is a scavenger hunt that spans across the entire nation, yep NATION! It’s an app that you can get on your phone, and find the items. They are very versatile as they can be on top of a mountain or in the city.

To tap into your dad’s more relaxing side, try pottery! Pottery reduces stress, improves creativity, and captures memories! Enjoy each others company while you create a beautiful craft.
