Borderline Genius Organization Life Hacks

Step 1: Why Is It Important To Get Organized?

Before we get into the best ways to organize your life, you need to understand WHY it’s important to get organized.

Organizing your life provides SO MANY benefits from relieving stress to better time management. With my experience, the best benefit I have received is feeling like there’s more time in the day and being productive.

If you’re looking to be productive, then you HAVE to organize your life. It’s truly the only way. There’s a reason by most million and billionaires wake up so early in the morning and are on a tight schedule, because that’s the BEST way to get things done.

Another MAJOR benefit these organization life hacks offer is relieving stress. As someone who once faced intense amounts of stress and anxiety, I can confidently say that organizing your life will help you SO MUCH!

By organizing your life, you will know what to expect, where everything is, how much stuff you own, and so much more. It eliminates a lot of the unknowns. However, (since life’s not perfect sadly) you shouldn’t expect everything to go 100% to plan, but by keeping a schedule and planner you can for sure stay on track to accomplish your goals.

Step 2: How To Stay Organized

Now that you know the importance of staying organized, it’s time to understand HOW to stay organized.  There’s no point in learning about the tips and tricks of organization life hacks if you don’t even know how to stick to it.

So how do you stick to staying organized?

1. Discipline

Sticking to your planner and keeping your home clean is no easy feat, but if you’re able to stick to your plans that is HIGHLY respectable. It’s highly respectable because not many people can do it, so if you want to challenge yourself then stick to the standards that you set for yourself.

There’s many tips and tricks on staying disciple such as writing down your goals, eliminating distractions, creating a routine, knowing your weaknesses, and more. By figuring out what works best for you to stay discipline, you will truly strive in these organization life hacks!

2. Find Accountable Partners

Finding people that will keep you accountable is another GREAT way to stick to staying organized. If you have trouble staying organized for yourself, then sometimes thinking about others and their reactions will make you want to better yourself!

This also goes hand in hand with discipline. If you want to stay discipline, one of the BEST ways is to have someone hold you accountable. This applies to so many different aspects in life. If you have a running partner, you can’t just NOT show up for a run, you have each other to make sure you’re both doing the right thing.

3. Reward Yourself For Small Goals

Staying organized is all about living stress free while pursing a productive lifestyle.

For example, if you set goals for yourself such as vacuum your home weekly, by the end of the first month, you should reward yourself for going through with your organizational goals!

No matter what your goals are for organization, rewarding yourself when you accomplish your goals, is a fantastic incentive to get yourself to complete your organizational goals.

4. Keep Your “Why” In Mind

Keeping your “why” in mind is all about constantly thinking why do you want to live an organized life? If you continuously think about all of the benefits of why you do what you do, then you will succeed.

Think about it, all of the hard work you do studying in school or at work, why do you do it? Is it to support your family? Is it to make a better life for yourself? There’s always a why for everything. Once you have your “why” down, you will be set to stay on the path of organization.

Step 3: Ways To Stay Organized

Now that you are able to continuously stick to these organization life hacks, it’s time to give them to you!

1. Keep A Planner

Keeping a planner is ESSENTIAL for productivity because it makes sure that you accomplish all of your tasks. It helps you keep track of your tasks so that you don’t have to deal with the stress and anxiety of not meeting your obligations.

As someone who remembers life without a planner, I swear that your productivity and stress levels are SO MUCH better with a planner.

I’ve tried MANY planners, but the one that absolutely changed my life the most was bysophialee’s planner from The Dailee. This planner has every single HOUR marked down for you to fill out what you’re doing. Along with planning your day, it has holidays, travel plans, budget plans, and so much more! Check out the dailee planners are The-dailee.com.

2. Have Notifications On Your Phone

Once you have your beautiful planner and scheduler all filled out, it’s not time to put notifications on your phone! This organization life hack is surprisingly ESSENTIAL! There were countless times when I was working on something and got carried away and the notification got me back on the right track.

To set notifications on your phone: if you have an iphone, go to settings, then notifications, then schedule summary. Once you’re at schedule summary flip the switch to activate, then include the apps you want for notifications! For Androids, go to Settings, then Apps & notifications, then Notifications. Under Recently Sent, tap an app, then a notification type.

3. Keep A Clean Home

Believe it or not, keeping a clean home is ESSENTIAL for staying organized. This organization life hack is essential for various reasons. Just think about it, when you imagine organization, do you think of a clean house or a dirty house?

To have a clean house, it’s very important to clean up as you go so that you don’t end up being overwhelmed with items to clean. Trust me, I’ve been there!

4. Keep A Calendar

You might think “how is this different from a planner?” Having a calendar on the wall, is another way to reinforce the activities you have planned for the day. By having special events marked down in your calendar, it will help you remember what is expected of you during each day.

There are sooo many fun calendars to get. One that I LOVE is Amazon’s best selling flower calendar. It has so many different flowers and colors that are the perfect soft girl aesthetic.

5. Always Have Enough Sleep

Having adequate sleep is ALWAYS something that will benefit your life. No matter if it’s in academic performance, sport performance, or even organization, you absolutely need sleep!

Think about it, when you don’t have a good sleep, are you productive in your day versus having a fantastic night sleep? Always make sure you have a good night sleep and your entire day will be more organized and productive.

7. Set Goals For Yourself

Another important organization life hack is to set goals for yourself. By setting goals you know exactly what you are working towards. If you want statistics on your side, then write down your goals! You are 42% more likely to do something when you write it down.

It’s important to set goals that are achievable in the next 30-60 days instead of something that will be on your goal list for years. This way, you can actually achieve your goals as they will seem very realistic to achieve. Also, there’s nothing as satisfying then completing your goals.

6. Track Your To-Dos

To achieve the goals you set for yourself, consider making day-to-day, week-to-week, and even month-to-month to-do lists!

The organization life hack of tracking all of your to-dos on a list allows you to know what you have accomplished and what you have not accomplished. If you track your successes and your “nonsuccesses”, you will know what to fix for the future and become more successful.

8. Meal Prep

This organization life hack is one of the most LIFE-CHANGING life hacks! By planning and prepping your meals for the week, you will get so much more work accomplished during the week.

Cooking takes a long time to do (if you want to eat healthy), but if you prepare all of your meals for the week in advance, you will save SO MUCH time.

I like to meal prep my lunches for the week to save time on cooking, but enjoy cooking my dinners. Find what works best for your schedule and incorporate it into your routine.
