If you’re someone who wants peace, clearer skin, or just be as healthy as you can so you can live longer, you will LOVE these holistic daily routine ideas.

So what’s the point in these daily routine ideas being holistic? The holistic aspect will treat your body fully, from inside and out. It will heal your root problems, instead of just masking your problems like many modern day medicine.

I will NEVER curse modern day medicine, as it saves thousands if not MILLIONS of lives, but it’s important to know that is can be mis-used.

These holistic daily routine ideas will give you a holistic approach to wellness, giving you a stress-free and peaceful day.

This post is all about 15 holistic daily routine ideas for a productive day.

Holistic Daily Routine Ideas

1. Sleep

If I were to be honest, I strongly dislike the phrase “I can sleep when I die”, because you will ACTUALLY die sooner and get less work done if you don’t sleep!

You become so much more productive the more you sleep, and everyone needs to take notes on this action, and get at least 8 hours of sleep.

Your day will not start off good unless you have a healthy amount of sleep. Sleep literally rejuvenates our bodies and we simply cannot live without it.

2. Stretch Daily

Stretching daily is not only good for your body’s flexibly, body posture, and enhanced athletic performance, but it gives you more mental clarity and reduces stress.

A few nights a week, I have “me time”, where I pull out my yoga mat, play my favorite podcast, and stretch for around 20 minutes.  On these nights, I have the BEST night sleeps, and it’s all thanks for the relaxation of stretching!

If you want a more peaceful life, then you NEED to add stretching into your daily routine. It might be hard to get yourself to stretch sometimes (just like any type of exercise), but you will never regret stretching afterwards, as the feeling is unmatched.

3. Pray / Meditate Daily

I will always believe that praying is better than meditating, but meditating is very necessary as well! When you pray, you connect with the higher power, and release your problems to Him. God always has your best interests at heart (even when it might not seem like it), so praying is the most wonderful thing in my eyes.

For meditating, there are SO MANY different forms of meditation that you can do. There’s somatic experience therapy, guided meditations, yoga, and so much more!

Both praying and meditating is cleansing to your soul, as you learn to love yourself and recognize how your body is feeling. If you want a peaceful day, take ten minutes to pray or meditate. Trust me, you WON’T regret it.

4. Have Gratitude Daily

Something that I like to do is write five things that I am grateful for during the day. I do this every night and haven’t looked back since. Reflecting on your day is a perfect daily routine to create the peacefulness that you need.

You can take it a step further and write things that you are grateful for in the beginning of the day. Starting off your day with gratitude sets you up for success for the rest of the day.

Just think about it, are you happier when you’re thankful or sadder when you’re thankful?

5. Spend 24 minutes A Day Outside

The phrase “spend 24 minutes outside a day — each minute for each hour of the day” is remarkable. We should try to live our lives like this, because after-all, humans were meant to be outside.

Especially on days where the weather is immaculate, we should be outside. Not only does it reduce depression, but it makes us so happy.

6. Walk 10,000 steps a day

Walking is important to our body both physically and mentally. It’s important to our physical healthy because it’s a low impact exercise for our cardiovascular system and great for our bones.

For your mental health, walking is linked to numerous mental health benefits, including reducing stress, anxiety, and depression. It can also improve mood and boost self-esteem.

It’s essential to not skip out on walking. To make walking even more beneficial, walk outside facing the sun the get Vitamin D,  which is also linked to improved mood. Or, listen to your favorite podcast while on the walk.

7. Lift Weights 3-4 Times A Week

This shouldn’t be done daily since it’s important to have a rest day, but it is very important to lift weights 3-4 times a week. Lifting weights improves your bone density and increases your metabolism which is important for longevity.

You might be thinking, how does this make me more peaceful and reduce stress? I’m getting there.  By releasing your energy and working hard to improve your muscles, this in turns makes you feel so good after a workout.

If you are someone who lifts weight regularly, then you know that you feel so amazing after your workout. This sense of feeling amazing will make you more peaceful and give you a heck of a good day.

8. Stay Away From Sugar

This might be the hardest of the holistic daily routine ideas, but it’s also so critical. Some of my holistic wellness friends take it to the extreme and say that sugar is poison, but it’s not all black and white.

Yes, sugar leads to weight gain, elevated blood sugar, dental issues, type two diabetes, addictive natures, nutrition deficiencies, and so many more negative impacts. Although I listed so many terrible things, the root of the problem is the sugar going into the gut.

The excess sugar causes a metabolic dysfunction, which needs to be taken a look at and fixed. It’s not alright to have these gut problems and it’s important to do even more research about the detrimental of sugar.

9. Spend Time With Family or Friends

Spending time with family and friends is exactly what your mind needs. Being around people who you fuel your energy (and not take away your energy) is something very beautiful.

Remember to be around people who are respectful of you and are true friends. There’s no point in being friends with people who stress you out, judge you, or make you feel a certain type of way.

Enjoy your time with your friends and family by doing various activities with them. For summer activities, view my summer bucket list post.

10. Do Something You’re Passionate About

The last of the daily routine ideas is to do something that you are passionate about. Whatever it is that you love: painting, reading, yoga, running, singing, instruments, baking, etc do it with all of your heart.

It’s important to keep your passions and hobbies in your life. If you’re not sure what your passion or hobby is, then test out a few! They won’t be easy at first, but slowly work your way into it and you’ll love it.

11. Cuddle Your Pets:

Cuddling your pets is the perfect stress reliever you need in your life. There’s honestly nothing more stress relieving than cuddling with your adorable dog, cat, or whatever cute pet you have!

So next time you’re feeling stressed, consider snuggling with your furry animal!

Cuddling can stimulate the production of serotonin and dopamine, which are neurotransmitters that can help regulate happiness and pleasure. This can help combat depression and lift your spirits.

12. Journal

Journaling goes hand in hand with living a peaceful day. If you’re stressed and you write down your feelings, you are most definitely going to feel so much better.

There’s been days when I couldn’t think and I was so stressed, but I was able to write down stresses and felt a whole lot better!

Along with stress reduction, this daily routine idea can help you become goal oriented. And think about it, completing goals is one of the most peaceful and satisfying things you can do.

13. Be Present

It’s time to be present in the moment. A lot of times, we stress because we’re consistently thinking about things over and over. But, if you only focus on thing at a time, then theoretically you won’t be as stressed!

It’s a whole lot easier said than done, but being present in the moment will make sure that you’re not overwhelmed. A few techniques that I use when I want to be. present, is every time I notice I’m overthinking about the future, I say a quick prayer to bring me back to the present moment.

If you want to say a quick prayer or have another technique to bring yourself back to reality, use it! Brining yourself back to the present moment is all about what holistic daily routines should be about.
